Neutral Ground
Pick a spot equidistant from both of you. It prevents one person from having "home turf" advantage.
High Traffic
Parks are nice, but isolated trails are not for first dates. Stick to busy cafes, bars, or malls where there are plenty of witnesses.
Transportation
Always have your own way home. Don't rely on them to pick you up or drop you off—then they know where you live.
